Gamildien: I was having a great season
Ruzaigh Gamildien says Chippa United have provided him with the platform to be a regular scorer in the Premier Soccer League.
The 31-year-old former Chilli Boys striker rejoined the side from Steenberg United in January, having departed after just one season.
He scored 11 goals in the ABC Motsepe League before his return, and has since netted twice and set up two goals in seven games prior to the enforced break as a result of the coronavirus.
Speaking to the Sowetan, Gamildien says he would be vying for top spot on the PSL goalscoring charts had he begun the campaign in the PSL.
He said: There would have been a strong possibility of me being among the leading scorers in the Premiership, had I started the season here [at Chippa].
"I believe I would have been competing for the top scorer award. I know that you can't really compare the NFD to the Premiership, but with the goals I scored in the NFD, you can see that I was having a great time this season."
He added: I think the Premiership is a bit superior... tactically. But the NFD is quicker and more physical, the marking is tighter."
