Manzini praying for Celtic saviour

Former Bloemfontein Celtic striker Lerato Manzini admits he is 'hurt' by reports that the Free State club is going to be sold and relocated.

According to reports, TS Galaxy owner Tim Sukazi is close to confirming the purchase of the cash-strapped PSL club.

The Siwelele faithful have expressed outrage at the fact that they may lose their club to another province.

And Manzini, who scored 13 goals in 54 appearances during his time at the club, has now added his voice to the growing disappointment.

"Bloemfontein Celtic's issue is very bad for the people of the Free state," Manzini tells

"This is the team that gave me a break in my life. This is the team that our people love in that province, and it's very sad."

However, the 29-year-old is aware that no amount of sentiment is likely to save the club in the modern business-orientated game that football has become.

"It's business as usual, there's nothing they can do. They just have to live with everything. But for me I'm hurt, because that club gave me a break. I hope it remains in the province," he adds.
