Tembo: Brockie is welcome to rejoin us
SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo says he would welcome former striker Jeremy Brockie back to the club with open arms.
Brockie excelled with Matsatsantsa after signing from Wellington Phoenix in 2015 and subsequently signed for Mamelodi Sundowns where he struggled to replicate his goal-scoring form.
A loan move to Maritzburg was also unsuccessful this term and the 32-year-old is set to be a free agent when his contract with the Brazilians expires on July 1 2020.
Speaking to Sun Sport, Tembo said: "Although I'm still focusing on finishing the season before I can think of beefing up the squad, I'm happy to say that Brockie is more than welcome to rejoin us.
"Any player who can add value to the team is more than welcome and Brockie is no different. He's an exceptional player."
Tembo also dismissed rumours that Gavin Hunt could be in contention for his job after Bidvest Wits were sold.
"I've never been worried about my future here," said Tembo. "The focus has always been on getting the job done and exposing young players to the first team.
"We're looking forward to returning to training and finishing the season. Players can't wait to report for camp."
