Xoki: Moeneeb is an excellent coach

Tapelo Xoki says Moeneeb Josephs has made a smooth transition from player to coach and has had a massive impact on the AmaZulu squad throughout lockdown.

Usuthu are gearing up for their return to training ahead of a possible resumption of league football

It has been over two months of individual and Zoom training sessions, where Josephs' motivation, guidance and inspiration has been key for the spirits of the players, says the 25-year-old former Old Mutual centre-back.

Josephs was appointed assistant coach to interim boss Ayanda Dlamini after the suspension of Jozef Vukusic and the pair have been credited for reviving morale at the club.

Xoki told the club's official website: "Moeneeb is a very positive guy, who always motivates his teammates. It is good to have such a player in the team.

"Whenever he notices that one of his teammates is not having a good day either during matches or training sessions, he always looks to lift our spirits."

He added: "It was quite easy for Moeneeb to make the transition from player to coach because he is a good leader and motivator.

"He has also played an important role during the current situation [lockdown] by making sure that everyone is motivated and the morale is good in the team."

Usuthu headed into the enforced break in 15th place on the PSL standings.
