February ready to start Downs career
Jody February says he is looking forward to being a part of Mamelodi Sundowns next season and intends to be there not to just make up the numbers.
The 24-year-old former Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper joined the Brazilians last season but was sent out on loan to Cape Umoya in the GladAfrica Championship.
He is set to link up with Sundowns next season where he will compete with Denis Onyango, Kennedy Mweene, Reyaad Pieterse, Abram Ngcobo and Ricardo Goss for the number one jersey.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, February explained it was a dream for him to sign for Sundowns. He also knows age is on his side.
February said: "Look, it really felt good to sign for a big team like Sundowns because knowing that one of the big teams is after your signature is a good thing and a sign that you are a good player.
"It shows that my hard work has paid off for them to recognise my talent."
February acknowledged that at Sundowns he can expect a hard fight for his pace.
"They are one of the best teams in the country and I just have to repay their faith in me when I get there," he added.
"I must not just add numbers. I am really happy that I got a call from them to sign for the club and I am looking forward to starting my career there."
