Mashikinya on the mend
Bloemfontein Celtic say Given Mashikinya is recovering well after testing positive for the coronavirus in recent weeks.
The 29-year-old former Cape Town City midfielder was one of a number of players reported to have contracted Covid-19 by clubs after a round of testing.
Celtic conducted their tests on Friday 19 June, with Mashikinya the only player in the squad to test positive. He remains asymptomatic and in isolation.
Celtic spokesperson Sello Nduna told Soccer Laduma: "Look Given is recovering well, the club is constantly communicating with him, from after the first round of testing, obviously with us speaking to the media and revealing the identity of the player who tested positive.
"We are in daily communication with him and he is currently in quarantine for 14 days, after which the next round of testing will be conducted."
Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC, TS Galaxy and Swallows FC all reported positive Covid-19 cases in their ranks.
