'We will be champions', jokes Vukusic about Rise and Shine
Polokwane City coach Jozef Vukusic insists his side keep their feet on the ground despite an impressive run of form that sees Rise and Shine in third place in the Premiership.
City started 2019 on a bright note when they defeated AmaZulu 3-2 with Walter Musona grabbing a brace, whereas Thando Booi scored the opening goal.
Meanwhile, Usuthu's strikes came from the boots of Bonginkosi Ntuli and Siyethemba Sithebe.
When asked whether his team were capable of mounting a title challenge, Vukusic jojed: "No, we will be the champions."
The Slovakian quickly added that his side must continue to play with pride and passion: "We must be humble and we must work. I tell the guys, 'play with passion'.
"But I don't speak about targets. The targets are there from the first day and it's fine, but it's still only 16 games and we have 14 left.
"What is fantastic is that if you concede two goals you are ready to score three, then it's fine.
"But we don't want to keep that mentality that we want to win 4-3 or 5-4, no."
City are next in action in the league on 20 January when they take on league leaders Bidvest Wits at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Pietersburg.
