Thabo Nthethe completes Baroka move
Baroka FC have confirmed they have completed the capture of former Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United defender Thabo Nthethe.
The reigning Telkom Knockout champions currently find themselves in a relegation battle in the Absa Premiership and are hoping that Ntethe will help strengthen their defence and boost their survival hopes.
"Baroka Football Club have completed the signing of experienced defender Thabo Nthethe (34) on a six-month deal with a 1 year option," Bakgaga tweeted on Friday.
Nthethe has signed a six-month contract with an option to extend for a further year.
According to a Baroka insider, the club is also hoping that Ntethe will play a key role in guiding the youngsters in the squad.
“Nthethe’s experience speaks volumes. That’s why the chairman didn’t waste time to bring him on board when he found out that he is available," a source told the Daily Sun.
“The youngsters always panic under pressure and having Nthathe in the team will help them stay calm.
“I have no doubt that he will bring the much needed stability in the team.”
Baroka currently lie in 13th place on the log with just 16 points from 18 games.
