Kekana: I was a young boy with dreams

Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana says he is grateful to Black Leopards for launching his career but still wants to beat Lidoda Duvha on Wednesday in the Premiership.

Kekana started his career with Leopards over a decade ago and went on to win five PSL titles with SuperSport United and Sundowns. In addition, he won the CAF Champions League with the Brazilians.

He has also represented Bafana Bafana with distinction during his playing career as well.

He told Kickoff: "To tell you the truth I was a young boy with dreams. I always knew that I want to play for Bafana Bafana and that I want to play overseas and that I want to win the league.

"I saw Alex Bapela [former Sundowns midfielder] winning the league, so I wanted to work hard to play for a team that has the same dreams as I do.

"I left Leopards to join SuperSport [in 2008] and I was fortunate that they were a team that was competing for trophies."

He concluded of Wednesday's game: "It's going to be a difficult game because we are playing a team that plays good football. Plus it's the second round where everybody is looking to get points, so we will go there very cautious because we want to make sure that we win the game.

"We will see how it goes, but I hope we win the match because we are playing at home."

Kickoff is from 19:30 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
