Lakay expects fired-up Matsatsantsa

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lyle Lakay says Supersport United still believe they are in the title race ahead of the sides' Tshwane derby at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday night.

Matsatsantsa are currently in sixth position on the Absa Premiership standings, only four points adrift of Sundowns and ten points behind the log leaders Orlando Pirates.

Lakay, who made three appearances for Supersport United, says his former club are still full of belief that they can win the title, judging by their pre-match comments.

“If you listened to their technical team carefully leading up to this match, you can sense that they believe they are still in the title race and that makes them a highly motivated bunch," the 27-year-old told the club's official website.

“If you ask me, they are currently doing very well in my opinion especially if you look at where they were halfway through the season and where they are right now. They have actually gone quietly about their business, almost unnoticed.”
