Loan players won't return to parent clubs before season concludes

Players who were sent out on loan for the 2019/20 season will not be required to return to their parent clubs until the campaign is completed.

The PSL season was brought to a halt in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is due to resume soon in order to complete the season.

The loan deals which expired on June 30 will be extended until the end of the season so as not to put clubs who rely on loan players at a disadvantage in the last few games of the league campaign.

Chippa United are one of the sides utilising loans. They have Meshack Maphangule, Tercious Malepe, and Sandile Mthethwa on loan from Orlando Pirates.

"We thought by today [Tuesday] we would know when we are resuming play. But we didn't get a clear indication. But we will get that indication this week," Chippa COO Lukhanyo Mzinzi said, as quoted by Sowetan Live.

"We need all the players until the end of the season. Whether they are in or out of contract, we are busy with them and their representatives.

"It will also depend on case to case but that's our intention, to have them. We have made everybody aware that we would like to finish the season with our players."
