Chance conversion Pirates' problem, says Lorch
Orlando Pirates forward Thembinkosi Lorch has revealed that an inability to convert chances is what arguably cost the team the Premiership title to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sundowns won their ninth league title last Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Free State Stars while the Sea Robbers were left to bemoan what might have been.
A 2-2 draw to Cape Town City in their penultimate match ensured fate was not in their hands ahead of their own 3-0 win over Polokwane City.
Lorch, who bagged a brace against Rise and Shine, told SuperSport: "I think we had a good season, but I think we started very slow (but) when the games started coming we showed character, we played our game. We adapted to the way the coach wanted us to play.
"I think we had a good season. It's unfortunate we have nothing to show (for it) on the table because people will judge you for what you bring on the table.
"But overall I'm with my team, we played well as a team overall the whole season.
"I think we just need to convert our chances. I think that's the problem we had this season. But we played well there's nothing we can change, we just need to change the mentality to score."
