Report: Kaizer Chiefs cancel club awards ceremony
Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly not made plans to host a club awards ceremony after a ninth place finish in the PSL and a loss to TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup final.
Prior to the defeat to the National First Division outfit, plans were in place for a ceremony however this appears to have changed after the shock loss to Dan Malesela's side.
The Glamour Boys endured one of their worst seasons in their history as they finished outside of the MTN8 places while suffering a humiliating setback against a Galaxy outfit that is a little over a year old.
Orlando Pirates loanee Zakhele Lepasa was the star for the second tier team as his late penalty handed the silverware to the Rockets.
In addition, a final day defeat to Chippa United in the Premiership meant Chiefs endured their worst campaign in the PSL era.
As such, while nothing has yet been made public by Amakhosi officials - it seems that a ceremony to award any decent performers at the club will not go ahead.
Chiefs players returned to Naturena on Tuesday for medical testing but since appear to have headed home for their offseason holidays.
Perhaps the only member of coach Ernst Middendorp's squad who may be disappointed by the turn of events is Khama Billiat who managed 17 goals across all competitions for the struggling Soweto giants.
