Clever Boys extend Mhango's deal
Bidvest Wits have extended the deal of striker of Hellings 'Gabadinho' Mhango for a further season as his current contract had just one year remaining.
The Clever Boys chose to exercise the option they had on his deal despite the fact that the forward played a limited role in 2018/19 for the Gavin Hunt-coached outfit.
Mhango has previously been linked with a move away from the Students with Europe mooted as a possible destination.
In October last year he was on trial with Portuguese top flight side Vitoria Futebol Clube however he failed to win a contract in that country.
The 26-year-old does have goals in his locker - in 2016/17 he hit the back of the net 11 times in all competitions though his contribution since then has been negligible.
The Malawi international managed just three goals and one assist in 2018/19.
Speaking to Kickoff, he confirmed his extension with Wits: "I already have a contract with the team.
"We were just extending my option because it was only left with one year. It was done two weeks ago."
