Ertugral: Billiat will be key for Chiefs
Muhsin Ertugral says Khama Billiat could be the deciding factor for Kaizer Chiefs in the remaining games of the season if he can remain injury free.
The 29-year-old 2016 PSL Player of the Season has struggled with injuries this term, playing just 13 league games, scoring once.
Amakhosi entered the enforced break, as a result of the coronavirus, in second in first place on the Premier League standings, four points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, but having played a game more.
The Zimbabwean has been working on his fitness while in lockdown, and Ertugral has high hopes in the former Ajax Cape Town and Sundowns attacker.
Ertugral told The Sunday Mail: "Injuries have played their part on his game. His rhythm and momentum have been disturbed a bit.
"I think after this period, and if he stays healthy, he will be a major force that can help the team win the league."
Ertugral knows Billiat from their time at Ajax together. The former PSL boss added: "It was at Ajax where I first came into contact with Billiat. He was very young at that time and we worked on his tactical knowledge of the game.
"He developed into a strong player at Sundowns, a player who is dedicated and loves to win.
"The success they had at Sundowns formed his character and hunger."
