Ntshangase, Peterson, Zulu all sign Chiefs extensions

Kaizer Chiefs have handed contract extensions to midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase, goalkeeper Brylon Petersen, and left-back Philani Zulu.

Ntshangase's new deal came as somewhat of a surprise as the 27-year-old has struggled to break into coach Ernst Middendorp's first team, failing to make a single appearance this season.

"Foremost, I am emotional about it. I want to thank the Chairman for this opportunity," Ntshangase said as quoted by Chiefs' Twitter account.

"I want to thank everyone involved in seeing that I can still contribute to this immense institution."

Meanwhile, Petersen was thrilled to put pen to paper on an extension as he remains determined to challenge Daniel Akpeyi and Itumeleng Khune for the chance to man the goal.

"I'm excited about my contract extension. It gives me a chance to improve further and compete at one of the best clubs on the continent. It is an honour to be here," Petersen said via the club's Twitter account.

Zulu expressed his gratitude to the club and chairman Kaizer Motaung after signing his new deal.

"I feel happy and grateful. All I can do to show gratitude and appreciation is to continue working to the best of my ability. I want to give back to the club. Thank you to the Chairman,” Zulu expressed on the club's Twitter account.

The 27-year-old joined Amakhosi in 2017 but has struggled to make an impact this campaign as he only made three league appearances before the COVID-19 pandemic brought the PSL to a halt.
