Hunt: We all have a lot to prove

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt says the players in his squad who have already secured their futures can help those yet to receive offers.

The Clever Boys resume their season against Mamelodi Sundowns in their Nedbank Cup semi-final clash at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

They are back in Premiership action against league leaders Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday.

Once completing their 2019/20 campaign Hunt's side will cease to exist after being sold to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivandila.

While a number of the top-earners at Wits have already agreed contracts for next season, a large portion of the squad will be unattached, including Hunt.

Hunt was reported by Goal as saying: "There are players, six or seven of them who've got contracts already going forward. The other 20 of us or 25 of us who've got nothing.

"So, we've got a lot to prove and I said to the players, 'these ones who've got contracts maybe they can help the ones that they haven't got' - get clubs and put the other players in the shopping window a little more. That's important."

He added: "Everybody tells me to wait and sit around... I need to get working again. So, really on my mind now, is Saturday's game and the games going forward but hopefully, something will come up and we can go from there."
