Mosimane uncertain how players will react

Pitso Mosimane admits he can't predict how his players will deal with coming into contact with opposing players.

Mamelodi Sundowns are back in action with their Nedbank Cup semi-final clash against Bidvest Wits on Saturday evening.

It will be the first competitive match for the Brazilians in over four months.

And while Mosimane has been hard at work ensuring his players are physically fit for the encounter, he is uncertain as to just how they will react on the day.

Speaking to the media ahead of their clash, Mosimane said: "Everything happens under the umbrella of football in COVID-19, what you used to do before the virus that works, that falls away because the program is different, the body is totally different, the mind?

"I don't know about the mind because some players have a different mentality about playing football under this space."

Mosimane added: "You saw that other players in Europe did not want to play, (N'golo) Kante for example, decided that he is not coming back until everything is right and almost ready, so you can see that there are players who might not want to talk.

"I don't know how they will react with other players at the time when they are supposed to mark man to man, set-pieces and corner kicks. The guys are sweating and you know players spit or sneeze on the pitch, so how is my player going to react to this kind of situation, that I can’t confirm.

"Everything under COVID I can't confirm, the mental strength under COVID, I don't know, I want to see also. We will talk after."
