Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 Baroka FC
Bloemfontein Celtic beat Baroka FC 2-1 in an Absa Premiership clash on Sunday at the Dr Molemela Stadium to boost their chances of finishing the season in the top-eight.
Siwelele took the lead on the half-hour mark through Tebogo Potsane but Baroka hit back after the halftime break when Manuel Kambala leveled matters only for Ndumiso Mabena to win it for the hosts in the 71st minute.
Celtic came into the contest having lost three of their last four league matches and looked determined to turn their form around.
They were on the scoreboard first when Mabena provided the assist for Potsane to hit the back of the net.
The scoreline stayed as is for the duration of the first half with the visitors failing to penetrate the home team's defence.
Bakgaga though came out firing after the interval and duly found the equaliser when Kambala turned in Ivan Mahangwahaya's assist.
The equaliser seemed to wake Celtic up from their second half slumber and they found what proved to be the winner when Mabena scored a solo effort through a static Baroka defence.
The victory moved Siwelele up to ninth place on the PSL standings, two points off Golden Arrows who occupy the final top-eight place.
Baroka, meanwhile, are still entrenched in a relegation battle as they are only out of the dreaded drop zone on goal difference.
