Pirates battling with lengthy injury list
Orlando Pirates head into their final Absa Premiership game of the season, against Free State Stars, without several players who have been sidelined by injury.
Musa Nyatama, who strained his knee against Cape Town City, is expected to be out for a week, according to the Bucs' official website, while Mpho Makola has been ruled out for up to three weeks with an ankle sprain.
Pirates have also been sweating on the availability of Mark van Heerden (foot injury), Gladwin Shitolo (sesamoiditis of the big toe) and Bernard Morrison (groin injury), while Thembinkosi Lorch and Thabiso Kutumela continue their rehabilitation programs from long-term injuries.
Meanwhile, Luvuyo Memela is recovering from a successful operation in which his medial meniscus was repaired and is set to start his rehabilitation following a checkup next week.
Pirates ran Mamelodi Sundowns close in the race for the Premiership title, but with Downs having wrapped it up in their last league game with a 3-1 win over Ajax Cape Town, little will be riding on the clash with Luc Eymael's men for Milutin Sredojevic's side.
The match at Orlando Stadium is set to kick off at 15h00 on Saturday.
