Parker: Chiefs need mental strength
Bernard Parker has called on his fellow Kaizer Chiefs players to show resilience, claiming this is necessary for CAF Confederation Cup qualification.
Chiefs have endured a tumultuous few weeks, with coach Steve Komphela stepping down following their Nedbank Cup semifinal loss to Free State Stars. However, they are still in the hunt for third place in the league.
“We are on a mission to finish third as that will give us a position in the CAF Confederation Cup,” Parker said, according to Kaizer Chiefs' official website.
“We have been knocked hard. We need to reset ourselves mentally. It’s a big challenge as a footballer. We have to be mentally strong and stick together.”
“We want to win the final two matches of the season because we want to finish in a good frame of mind.”
Amakhosi will play Maritzburg United, who currently lead them by one point in the race for third, today at 15h00.
