Davids praises Chiefs' desire
Fadlu Davids conceded that Kaizer Chiefs wanted the three points more than Maritzburg United in Amakhosi's 2-0 win over the Team of Choice on Saturday.
Gustavo Paez opened the scoring in the 29th minute and Dumisani Zuma scored Chiefs' second goal in the 67th.
“I think Kaizer Chiefs played a very good game. I think they were the better team in all departments. They turned up today and wanted it more. They were clearly the team pushing and going all out,” Davids told SuperSport after the game.
Davids claimed that although his side was understandably fatigued after two games against Mamelodi Sundowns, they were inevitably going to be punished for the way they played against Patrick Mabedi's team.
He suggested that the defeat would make them stronger ahead of the Nedbank Cup final showdown with Free State Stars.
“I think overall it was a poor performance from our side and a fantastic performance from their side. They fully deserved the three points,” he said.
“Anyway, we’ll have to go back. It’s probably good to have been brought back to earth now to prepare properly for the final.”
