Jali: I still want to win trophies

Andile Jali says he still has unfinished business in African football and will be looking to win the CAF Champions League now that he is back in South Africa.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder said one of his goals is to win the CAF Champions League, having come close while he was still playing for Orlando Pirates, where they lost in the final to Al Ahly in 2013.

Jali is back in the country after parting ways with KV Oostende in Belgium, where he has been playing since leaving Pirates in 2014.

The midfielder’s future is still undecided as he continues to be linked with the Premiership powerhouses, but stated that he has left everything in the hands of his management to find him a new home.

Jali told Metro FM: “I still want to win trophies. I did not come back just to be back at home.

“I am not just here to play and enjoy the game. I still want to win more trophies — especially the CAF Champions League.

“If I can win the Champions League, then I will say, 'ok, I have done it.'

“I did not come here for money, I came here for my family and whatever offers that will be on the table. I will hear from my manager, Mike Makaab. It’s not on me, He is doing everything.”
