Mabasa's exit marks the end of a memorable eight-year spell at the Soweto giants, where he established himself as one of the club's most prolific forwards in recent years.

The 29-year-old departs as Orlando Pirates' second-highest goalscorer of all time after finding the back of the net 50 times in 141 appearances across all competitions.

His departure comes after spending the second half of last season on loan at Stellenbosch, where he continued to gain valuable game time. With his contract now concluded, the striker is a free agent and is expected to attract interest from clubs both locally and abroad.

Having joined Pirates as a young player with ambitions of making his mark at one of South Africa's biggest clubs, Mabasa experienced both challenges and success during his time in black and white.

He played a key role in several trophy-winning campaigns and enjoyed personal milestones that cemented his place in the club's history books.

On Tuesday, the striker took to social media to bid farewell to the club, reflecting on the journey that transformed him from a promising youngster into one of the PSL's most respected forwards.

"Eight years ago, a young man walked through the doors of Rand Stadium with nothing but a dream and a hunger to succeed," Mabasa wrote on Instagram.

"Today (Tuesday), I leave this great institution with immense gratitude and pride. Thank you to Orlando Pirates for giving me the opportunity to be part of a club whose history and legacy will forever remain close to my heart."

The striker also expressed his appreciation to the coaches, teammates and staff members who were part of his journey during his lengthy stay at the club.

"To every player, coach, staff member, and teammate I shared this journey with, thank you for the memories, friendships, and moments that will stay with me forever," he said.
