"It became a more equal game and you are frightened every time they arrive, but I don't think we conceded many big chances. I saw a team fighting to get the win over the line."

Wirtz said he is still adapting to the physical demands of the Premier League. "Every game I feel a bit better," he said. "I know it's the hardest league in the world and I just have to get used to it."

Slot remains confident more goals will follow. "One goal is not enough," he said. "He will score many more for us than just this one."
