Sekhukhune United go top of the table with victory over Durban City

Sekhukhune United continued their good form this season as they soared to a 2-0 victory over top-flight newcomers Durban City in Limpopo on Saturday.

Two early goals from Babina Noko from veteran duo Bradley Grobler and midfielder Thabang Monare ensured that the home side controlled the opening 45 minutes.

City came out looking for a goal to put them back in the match, but a disciplined defensive performance ensured they weren't able to test United's goalkeeper Manuel Sapunga.

The win sees Eric Tinkler's side go into the international break on top of the Betway Premiership with four wins and a draw from their opening five matches of the 2025/26 season.

TS Galaxy move up to fourth with 3-1 win over Orbit College

TS Galaxy climbed to fourth place in the Betway Premiership with a 3-1 win over Orbit College.

The hosts took an early lead in the opening minute when Seluleko Mahlambi capitalized on a precise delivery from Mpho Mvelase to score from close range. Galaxy had an early penalty opportunity, but Puso Dithejane’s spot-kick was saved by Sekhoane Moerane. Orbit’s chances were also limited, with Gomolemo Khoto missing a clear opportunity in the second half.

Galaxy extended their lead in the 67th minute when Sphesihle Maduna combined with Mahlambi to finish from a tight angle, before Tshepo Mvelase added a third following a neat cut-in from Dithejane. Orbit pulled one back late through Lethabo Modimoeng, but it proved insufficient to change the outcome.

TS Galaxy were reduced to ten men in stoppage time as Lentswi Motaung was sent off for a second bookable offence. Despite the dismissal, the hosts had already done enough to claim a convincing victory and continue their push toward the top four.

Mokone snatches late equaliser for Magesi against AmaZulu

Magesi FC and AmaZulu FC shared the points in a tightly contested Betway Premiership clash that ended 1-1 at Seshego Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The result lifted AmaZulu to fifth place on the table with eight points from five matches, while Magesi stayed in 14th with three points.

AmaZulu struck first in the 17th minute when Thando Ngwenya reacted quickest to a corner, firing home from close range to give the visitors the lead.

Usuthu created further openings through Nkosikhona Radebe and Mondli Mbanjwa, but they could not find a second goal to kill off the contest.

Magesi grew into the game with Nkanyiso Zungu pulling the strings in midfield. He came close on several occasions, including a curling free kick that narrowly missed the target. Kgomotso Mosadi also threatened with a long-range effort, but AmaZulu's defence remained solid.

The home supporters had to wait until the final minute of regulation time for their breakthrough. Substitute John Mokone rose highest from a set piece to head beyond AmaZulu goalkeeper Veli Mothwa, sparking wild celebrations in Seshego.
