We have picked the five players that could have the biggest impact on the fixtures result between two of South Africa's giants.

Langelihle Phili

Amakhosi's marquee signing for the 2026/27 season will be expected to deliver another strong performance against Mamelodi Sundowns following his Man of the Match performance in the 2-0 midweek win against Sekhukhune United.

The 21-year-old has faced Masandawana on two previous occasions while at Stellenbosch and is yet to win, score or assist against the Tshwane giants.

Brayan Leon

The Colombian striker comes into the fixture having scored the opener [penalty] in the 3-2 victory against TS Galaxy on Tuesday and will look to continue his Sundowns goalscoring form attack against Amakhosi on Saturday.

He scored the opener in the last Betway Premiership encounter between the two teams in May and will likely be the focal point of Masandawana's attack.

Brandon Petersen

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper and captain Brandon Peterson will have to be at his peak against a quality Mamelodi Sundowns frontline as he looks to redeem himself from conceding on the near post in the MTN8 Quarter-final exit against Golden Arrows last weekend.

He kept his first clean sheet of the 2026/27 season in the midweek 2-0 win against Sekhukhune United and will be looking to continue with the performance against the Chloorkop-based club on Saturday.

Antonio van Wyk

Masandawana's new attacking signing Antonio van Wyk has hit the ground running since joining the club from Austrian side SV Reid ahead of the new season, scoring in both his pre-season and MTN8 debuts.

The former Cape Town City star is likely to add a different attacking dimension and threat to the Chiefs defence for Saturday's clash.

He has faced Chiefs on three previous occasions during his spell at Stellenbosch, losing twice in the first two appearances and winning the last clash. Van Wyk is yet to score or assist against Amakhosi.

Mduduzi Shabalala/Themba Zwane

It's a tie!

Kaizer Chiefs forward Mdu Shabalala contributed with a goal off the bench against Sekhukhune United in their 2-0 victory, having also scored the equalizer in last season's league clash against Sundowns.

Meanwhile Ka Bo Yellow could turn to veteran Themba Zwane for inspiration following his 19-minute extra time cameo to provide the extra-time winner in the MTN8 quarter-final 3-2 win over Polokwane City.

Both players could make a decisive impact on Saturday's fixture.
