The match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium saw a mix of regulars and fringe players, with coach Nasreddine Nabi absent due to minor surgery.

Chiefs wasted no time in taking the lead, with Mfundo Vilakazi scoring just five minutes in after a quick counter-attack. The young striker made no mistake, slotting the ball into the net to give the Soweto giants an early advantage.

Pule Mmodi, who was up against his former side, nearly doubled the lead minutes later with a clever effort from close range, but Golden Arrows goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede was equal to the task, making a strong save.

Golden Arrows, who had struggled in the opening minutes, began to find their rhythm. Knox Mutizwa and Brandon Theron caused a few problems for the Chiefs' defence, with Mutizwa testing goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma on a couple of occasions.

Two second-half substitutions for Chiefs, Happy Mashiane for Reeve Frosler and Dillon Solomons for Bradley Cross, helped maintain their control of the match.

Chiefs got their second goal five minutes after the break, as Nkosingiphile Ngcobo fired in a powerful shot from distance that left Gumede with no chance.

Despite being two goals down, Golden Arrows continued to press for a way back into the game. Nqubeko Dlamini's powerful shot forced Chiefs' substitute goalkeeper Brandon Petersen into action, but Arrows' efforts were in vain.

Ranga Chivaviro also came close to pulling one back for the visitors, trying a cheeky lob from long range, but the ball missed the target.

In the final stages, Chiefs remained composed, comfortably seeing out the game and securing their place in the final. Golden Arrows' late push came to nothing, as the men from Naturena claimed a well-earned 2-0 win.
