The 17-year-old scored one goal and provided an assist as Gladbach ended their six-match losing streak to avoid becoming the first team in Bundesliga history to lose their opening seven games without collecting a point.

"It's an amazing feeling to finally get our first win of the season," Mohya said. "We came here determined to get something from the game, so I'm absolutely delighted that we managed to do that. Being able to help the team with an assist and a goal makes it even better."

Gladbach fell behind after just five minutes when Ermedin Demirovic unleashed a powerful long-range volley that beat goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas. Stuttgart had opportunities to extend their lead, but missed chances allowed the visitors to recover.

Joe Scally equalised before half-time with an inventive backheel after Zento Uno's volley returned the ball into the danger area. Mohya then struck the crossbar in stoppage time as Gladbach threatened to complete the turnaround.

The visitors took the lead shortly after the break when Mohya showed impressive strength and skill to get past two defenders before setting up Shuto Machino, who finished emphatically inside the near post.

Mohya extended Gladbach's advantage with a close-range header after Stuttgart lost possession. Scally delivered the cross, and the teenager was on hand to finish from the back post, continuing his remarkable run of scoring in consecutive Bundesliga matches.

Demirovic headed Stuttgart back into the contest, setting up a tense finish. However, Nicolas produced an important save to deny Jamie Leweling and preserve Gladbach's first league victory of the campaign.

Gladbach head coach Alexander Blessin praised his team's response after conceding early, highlighting their improved organisation and determination.

"This is the third time we've come back from a deficit, but this time we also managed to turn the game in our favour in the end," Blessin told Sky Sports.

"After conceding an early goal, we stayed in the game, gained more confidence, won the ball back well, and found a clear structure. The important thing is that we've now started picking up points, and everyone can see that the team is alive and kicking."

Head of sport Rouven Schröder also welcomed the result, admitting the club had been under enormous pressure after six consecutive defeats.

"The whole club can breathe a sigh of relief now because we've finally got going in the league," Schröder said on Gladbach's official website.

He added that the players had shown courage, intensity and commitment, estimating that the team covered 128 kilometres during the match.

Mohya said the squad must now build on the victory and carry their momentum into the coming fixtures. Gladbach face Karlsruhe in the second round of the DFB-Pokal before returning to Bundesliga action against fellow strugglers SC Paderborn.
