The Blues are pushing to secure a deal for the young winger ahead of the Club World Cup, intensifying their focus on bolstering their attacking options.

Last summer, Chelsea brought in Sancho on loan from Manchester United after the England international's relationship with then-manager Erik ten Hag broke down irreparably. The agreement included an obligation to buy the former Dortmund standout for 25 million pounds, though the Blues have the option to walk away by paying a 5 million pound penalty fee this summer. This leaves Sancho's long-term future at Stamford Bridge uncertain.

Following Chelsea's commanding 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the Europa Conference League final last week, manager Enzo Maresca remained non-committal about Sancho's role. "I said yesterday in the press conference," Maresca stated.

"From now on, we are going to sit with the club and decide what happens for next year. If we finish fourth, it is also because of Jadon; if we win tonight, it is also because of Jadon. It is normal in a season to go a little bit up and down; it is part of the game."

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole, however, has been vocal in his praise for Sancho's impact this season.

Speaking after the Europa Conference League final, Cole said, "I think Jadon is a really great player, and I think he's done well. He's been rotated in and out a bit, but I want to see Jadon playing. You want a player like that in your squad. It will come down to a financial decision, I imagine, but I really like him."

When pressed on whether Sancho had done enough to secure a permanent move, Cole added, "Yes, I do. This is a kid who went to Dortmund and was a superstar as a kid. It wasn't working at Manchester United, but he's done well; he's got his career back on track at Chelsea. I think there's more to come from him as well."

Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph reported that Chelsea are in active talks with Borussia Dortmund to sign Jamie Gittens, a 20-year-old England Under-21 international.

The Blues are eager to finalize the transfer before both teams head to the Club World Cup. Sources suggest Dortmund value Gittens at over 50 million pounds, with a release clause in his contract hovering around that figure.

The potential move highlights Chelsea's intent to strengthen their wide areas, particularly on the left wing, Gittens' preferred position.

This development has fueled speculation that Chelsea could be preparing to move on from Sancho, whose future remains unresolved. The Blues' pursuit of Gittens appears to have their full attention as they navigate the complexities of squad planning for the 2025/26 season.
