Orlando Pirates' dynamic attacker, Patrick Maswanganyi, expressed his eagerness to find the back of the net after delivering two crucial assists during the MTN8 semi-final first leg showdown against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday afternoon.

Maswanganyi orchestrated a great cross, threading the ball perfectly to Zakhele Lapasa, who netted the equalizer in the second half. This equalizer was a lifeline for the Buccaneers, who were trailing 1-0 following a headed goal by Ismael Toure in the first half, compounded by Stellenbosch FC's reduced numbers due to Thabo Moloisane's red card.

The former SuperSport United winger continued to shine by providing the assist for the winning goal, as his precision cross demanded a delicate touch from Deon Hotto, who deflected it into the net to make it 2-1.

Reflecting on his performance, Maswanganyi acknowledged his slow start in the first half but credited his teammates for motivating his second-half resurgence. "My gratitude goes out to my teammates for their unwavering support. I didn't begin well in the first half, and we conceded a goal.

"However, we managed to stage a remarkable comeback, and I'm elated that we secured an away victory. It gives us a significant boost as we head back to Orlando. I'm genuinely thrilled with the result," said Maswanganyi during his post-match interview on SuperSport TV, where he was presented with the Man of the Match award.

Maswanganyi revealed that half-time words from coach Jose Riveiro served as a catalyst for their comeback. "The coach urged us to stay composed at halftime, assuring us that we'd find the net. We're ecstatic that we executed the instructions and scored two crucial away goals. I'm highly satisfied with our performance," he stated.

With unwavering confidence, Maswanganyi expressed his readiness to elevate his game and start contributing goals himself, adding, "It also boils down to individual effort. When you're performing well, you're driven to excel. With our talented squad and coaching staff, adapting and thriving is effortless for me.

"I'm content with my performance thus far. Providing assists in my role as a ten is great, but in the next game, I plan to find the back of the net," he added.
