The 24-year-old has been a standout performer in the Premier League this season, scoring 17 goals in 26 league appearances to sit second in the scoring charts behind Erling Haaland of Manchester City.

Across all competitions, Thiago has registered 18 goals in 27 matches, underlining his importance to Brentford's push for European qualification as they currently sit seventh in the table.

Thiago joined Brentford from Club Brugge in 2024, although his first season in England was heavily disrupted by injury.

Since returning to full fitness, he has become a central figure in the team's attacking play and recently set a record for the most goals scored by a Brazilian in a single Premier League season. His campaign has also included his first top-flight hat-trick, which came against Everton earlier this year.

Speaking after signing his new deal, Thiago highlighted his emotional connection to the club and supporters. "I love the club and the people in the club. It's a true love, a real love," Thiago said.

"When the fans support me, and I see them singing my name and singing my song, it gives me more power. I'm really happy for all of the love they have given to me. It means so much."

The striker also reflected on his early struggles following his arrival in west London.

"In the beginning, when I first came, I had the injury. The staff and the people around the training ground were helping me and supporting me."

Brentford head coach Keith Andrews praised both Thiago's development and his influence within the squad, describing the extension as richly deserved.

"It's brilliant that Thiago has committed his long-term future to the club," Andrews said. "The connection that he has with his team-mates, the staff and the fans, as well as how much the club means to him and he means to us, is pretty evident for everybody to see.

"Again, it's the person before the player. I love working with him and I've loved seeing his evolution as a player. How he plays is such a big part of how we play and what our season has been so far. He's been a massive player for us, so it's a contract he thoroughly deserves and I'm really happy that the club have been able to get it done."
