After three restrained windows, the Reds, backed by owners FSG, are ready to splash the cash in a transformative overhaul at Anfield.

The summer of 2018 saw Liverpool invest 172.05 million pounds to bring in Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Naby Keita, and Xherdan Shaqiri, a figure expected to be dwarfed by the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and Florian Wirtz.

Bayer Leverkusen have set a 126 million-pound price tag on Wirtz, a deal that could smash Liverpool's record 85 million-pound outlay for Darwin Nunez and even challenge the Premier League's all-time high of 115 million pounds, paid by Chelsea for Moises Caicedo.

Frimpong's move from Bayer Leverkusen is pegged at around 29.5 million pounds, while Bournemouth have valued Kerkez at 45 million pounds. Liverpool are working to ease the financial load, with The Guardian reporting that achievable add-ons will be key to securing Wirtz, allowing the Reds to complete their ambitious squad revamp in one swoop.

The spending won't stop there. Liverpool have acknowledged Darwin Nunez's likely departure, with interest from Saudi Arabia and Atletico Madrid circling the striker.

Once Frimpong, Kerkez, and Wirtz are secured and Nunez is sold, the Reds will accelerate pursuits for a new No. 9 and a centre-back, according to the Daily Mail's Merseyside correspondent, Lewis Steele.

"Wirtz is primed to follow (Frimpong) from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool, and after that, the Reds will step up a pursuit for a No. 9 and a central defender, with Darwin Nunez likely to leave to raise cash," Steele wrote.

Liverpool have shortlisted three strikers: Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, and Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez. Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg has indicated Ekitike leads the race, with Liverpool having held talks for the Frenchman. Chelsea, also in the mix, appear focused on securing Ipswich's Liam Delap, potentially clearing the path for the Reds.

To fund this spree, Liverpool are prepared to offload several stars. Caoimhin Kelleher has caught Brentford's eye as a replacement for Mark Flekken, who's bound for Bayer Leverkusen. Kostas Tsimikas is on Leeds United's radar and could exit once Kerkez arrives.

Meanwhile, Harvey Elliott's future looks uncertain with Wirtz incoming. "Harvey Elliott was in tears at Anfield this weekend and has gone on the record hinting that this could be the end of the road for him, as much as he hates to admit it," Steele noted, adding that clubs in England and Germany are keen.

The Reds also stand to gain 30 million pounds from Ben Doak, linked with Everton, a remarkable return on the 600,000 pounds paid to Celtic three years ago. Sales of homegrown talents like Kelleher, Elliott, and Doak will register as pure profit, boosting Liverpool's financial flexibility.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also hinted at possibilities for Jarell Quansah to depart, contingent on a new centre-back arriving.

Liverpool had targeted Dean Huijsen for the defensive role, but the Spaniard agreed to join Real Madrid for 50 million pounds. The Reds' next pivot remains unclear, though targets are expected to emerge as the window progresses.
