The Premier Soccer League (PSL) confirmed that Moses Mabhida Stadium will host the clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates on 10 May.

The announcement came shortly after Kaizer Chiefs' dramatic 2-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday at Loftus Stadium, securing their place in the final. Earlier in the day, Orlando Pirates punched their ticket to Durban with a narrow 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants at Orlando Stadium.

This sets up a classic Soweto Derby finale in one of the country's most iconic venues, a match sure to ignite passion and nostalgia among fans.

The Moses Mabhida Stadium has witnessed some memorable moments in South African football history. The last time the Soweto giants met there was in the 2014/15 MTN8 final, where a Tefu Mashamaite header sealed a 1-0 win for Chiefs over Pirates.

This will be the second domestic cup final hosted at Moses Mabhida this season.

The MTN8 final took place there in October, where Pirates claimed a 3-1 victory over Stellenbosch. Remarkably, the upcoming final marks the Buccaneers' 11th appearance at the stadium, a venue that has become something of a second home for them.

All eyes now turn to Durban for what promises to be a thrilling, high-stakes Soweto Derby in pursuit of Nedbank Cup glory.
