The Belgian forward, who has produced five goals and five assists in all competitions this season, left the pitch shortly before half-time on Wednesday with discomfort in his left leg.

He received treatment from Arsenal's medical team before speaking briefly with Mikel Arteta and heading straight down the tunnel.

Arteta admitted after the 3-1 victory that the extent of the injury was still unclear. "With Leo, we don't know the extent of his injury," the manager said. "He said he felt something and we didn't want to take any risk."

The injury comes at a difficult time for Arsenal, who remain top of both the Premier League and their Champions League group but continue to deal with a long list of absentees.
