Eberechi Eze broke the deadlock for the Gunners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after 32 minutes.

Kolo Muani levelled for Spurs just two minutes later but Viktor Gyokeres regained the Gunners' lead two minutes into the second half.

Eze sealed the result with his second of the game on the hour mark but there was still time for Gyokeres to get his second, deep into stoppage time at the end of the match.

The result saw Arsenal maintain their five point lead at the top of the standings after second-placed Manchester City defeated Newcastle 2-1 on Saturday.

There was an early sighter for the league leaders but Gyokeres could only direct his header straight at Spurs defender Radu Dragusin, after a super ball into the box from Jurrien Timber.

Spurs goalkeeper Vicario was then lucky not to be lobbed after racing out of his area to head clear under pressure from Bukayo Saka.

Gyokeres was wide on seven minutes as the Gunners pressed forward in numbers, before William Saliba headed a 17th minute Gyokeres nod down past a post.

Despite the chances, Tottenham didn't really look like conceding, but Eze changed all that with his effort on 32 minutes to put the Gunners ahead. The England midfielder did well to skip past Pape Sarr, and after getting lucky with the bounce, he managed to fire in off the bounce from close range.

But no sooner had Arsenal taken the lead, were they pegged back, just three minutes later, after a mistake in defence from Declan Rice to conceded possession to Muani, who smashed home past David Raya.

Arsenal looked for an immediate response but Vicario was on hand to block Eze on the break.

In terms of goal-mouth chances, that was it for the first half, while the second period began with Raya making an awkward save to keep out a Xavi Simons shot.

But the home side were soon silenced as Gyokeres found the back of the Spurs net, two minutes after the restart, with a thunderous drive past a despairing Vicario after a neat pass to pick out the striker from Timber.

Eze really should have made a pass to Gyokeres minutes later but opted to shoot, and saw his effort comfortably blocked by the covering defender.

But he soon made up for his error with Arsenal's third goal, to effectively kill off the game, for his sixth goal of the season, picking up a Gyokeres backheel and firing home past Micky van de Ven and an advancing Vicario.

Spurs were all over the place defensively after the goal and Saka so nearly added a fourth with a dinked shot at the Spurs goalkeeper's near post, but the ball bounced wide of the goal.

Naturally then, the next chance fell to the home team, with Richarlison close to catching Raya out with a goal-bound flick, but the Arsenal stopper was able to track back and claw the ball off his goal line.

But Arsenal had the final say as Gyokeres found his second goal of the game, four minutes into injury time with a curler inside the far post from the left-hand side.

Mikel Arteta's side lead the table by five points but having played a game more than Man City. Spurs are fifth bottom, just two points above Forest and four clear of West Ham.
