Lungelo Nguse scored a brace to help Golden Arrows to a 2-1 victory that condemns Cape Town Spurs to a sixth consecutive defeat in the PSL this season.

The losing run sees Spurs equal the PSL record held by Bush Bucks in 1999 for starting the league campaign with six defeats.

The Cape side made a good start on a cold and wet evening at Athlone Stadium when Ashley Cupido put them ahead after 16 minutes.

Arrows, however, hit back in the second half as substitute Nguse equalised in the 55th minute and then struck the winner with 10 minutes remaining.

While Spurs remain rooted to the bottom of the standings, Arrows maintained their good start to the campaign and sit in second place, four points behind Mamelodi Sundowns.

Stellenbosch 0-2 Swallows

Swallows moved up to third on the PSL table after a 2-0 win against 10-man Stellenbosch at the Danie Craven Stadium.

The visitors made a flying start to the contest when they took the lead through Ntsako Makhubela in just the second minute.

The home team's ability to fight back was given a knock when defender Olivier Toure was shown a red card just before the hour mark.

The Soweto side then took full advantage of the extra man and put the game to bed when Tshegofatso Mabasa found the back of the net in the 73rd minute.

Richards Bay 1-2 Chippa United

Elmo Kambindu scored twice as Chippa picked up their second league victory of the season after a 2-1 win at Richards Bay.

It was the hosts that went front at the King Zwelithini Stadium when Sanele Barns found the back of the net on the half-hour mark.

The Chilli boys however hit back just three minutes later when Kambindu struck his first of the evening.

The striker's scoring for the contest was not done and he found the winner with 10 minutes remaining to condemn Richards Bay to their fourth defeat in seven matches.
