After a frustrating end to his time at Orlando Pirates, where chances became limited and confidence was tested, the experienced midfielder returned to Gallants knowing that his next chapter would require patience, humility and responsibility rather than spotlight moments. And that approach has transformed both player and team.

Ndlondlo has been one of Gallants' most consistent performers this season, guiding them to the Carling Knockout final and helping steady a squad that currently sits 12th in the Betway Premiership with 15 points.

His influence has been felt not only through goals and assists, but through his decision-making, movement and leadership on the pitch.

Speaking ahead of the Carling Cup encounter - where he will turn out for the All Stars against Carling Knockout champions Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday - Ndlondlo spoke about embracing a new role within the team.

Deployed as a false No. 9, he has been tasked with linking midfield and attack, creating space for others and arriving in goal-scoring areas at the right moments.

"It's not about where you play, but how you help the team," Ndlondlo told the media.

"I've learned to accept responsibility in different positions. Being closer to goal has allowed me to contribute more and enjoy my football again."

Behind the on-field improvement has been a mental recalibration following his Pirates exit.

"When things don't go the way you expect, you have to reset. I had to accept that one chapter had ended and focus fully on the opportunity in front of me," said the midfielder.

Returning to Gallants, where he previously lifted the Nedbank Cup after scoring the decisive goal in the final against Chippa United, provided familiarity and belief. That sense of belonging has allowed him to play with freedom and confidence.

Ndlondlo also highlighted the impact of head coach Alexander Lafitte, whose ideas have helped reshape the team.

"He may be young, but his thinking and structure are very mature," he said.

"The team is improving, and the second half of the season will show how far we can go."
